There isn't a democratic Iraq. There is a very weak government that can't control large areas of the country, and foreign fighters enter the country from all sides to enter and fund their ethnic group kill large amounts of people from other ethnic groups. I don't know how many people voted in the election, but it was a tiny percentage of the population and the militias are more powerful than the government is.
In almost every way, Iraq was better off under Saddam Hussein than as a "democracy." __________________
