That was Newsweek magazine in 1975...not Time.....and we know how it went. i am still waiting for the acid rain to melt away my skin and destroy my home and car... tell me liberal alarmists... what ever happenned to acid rain? i seem to remember reading alot about it in my text books in grade school... all the fish in the ocean should be dead by now because of man made acid rain... the globe isn't warming, the rain isn't turning into acid, the sky isn't falling... it will all be ok chicken little.

but on a serious note, the effects may hav been over exaggerated but nonetheless the lesson is to carefully monitor climate changes AS WELL AS OUT IMPACT on them.

AL GORE still had a lot of things right.

oh as i have said before i am all about being as green as is REASONABLY possible... i'm not going to get new insulation in my house, use 1 sheet of toilet paper, spend 12 extra dollars on light bulbs, buy a new greener tv... buy greener foods, etc etc... especially not at the suggestion of Al Gore... a man who's carbon footprint is more like a fucking carbon crater... between his mansion and jet he uses more energy and fuel in a day than i probably do in a year... fucking hypocrit...

an thats the type of shit that pisses me off about global warming... sure the message is important "take care of your environment" but the messengers are hypocrits. AND the vehicle is bull shit(global warming)

i personally think a lot more research needs to be done and we DO need to watch how we affect the world we live in, if not for the planet and its nonhuman dependends themselves, than for ourselves and our futrue!

Actually, you ARE going to spend an extra $12.00 (if not more) on new lightbulbs since incandescent bulbs have been banned and will be phased out....thanks to this AGW nonsense.

once again, people are positive of their beliefs on a subject without understanding the subject or evidence that supports it. another issue that comes to mind is evolution. these are NOT, easy theories to understand. they are rather complex, as is the research that supports them. most people also do not even understand how science works (eg the peer review system, protection against bias etc). no one will ever attempt to make major changes to repair global warming until something major happens. for example, a large ice shelf breaking off to cause worldwide tsunamis. yes, it could happen. it HAS happened, just not during our time. i for one, am not optimistic. developing countries arent going to just STOP developing because its good for the environment. hopefully all the terrible things will happen after my time
