Meh. Why shouldn't the French be anti-American with the amount of shit they have to put up with from Americans. Even if it is in jest.

On the other hand, the same thing can be said about the average American MMA fan.

What I don't get is the fact that the French are anti-american when it comes to MMA, but not always in the other sports. They are in fact quite open-minded when it comes to embracing American pop culture with its music industry and all the crap that comes out of holywood.

I think I know why UFC will never be popular with the French.

Can you picture the smell if 10,000 French people all gathered in an arena at the same time? The fighters would pass out before they even got a chance to fight.

We're not. The nationality of our opponents dont really matter unless we playing England or Italy at football. And even when it comes to them games its just about some special excitement, we dont go around bashing every italian or british residents in the street. Its just banter.

Marion Jones who was doped stole a lot of medals from french atheletes, especially one. The french werent mad at her and didnt care she was an american runner in the slightest.

The war was apparently necessary. The US wanted to bring these poor people civilization by putting on Jonny Knoxville adventures on Iraqis tubes. Now they're saved.

It's not about the fighters. It's about the orgs. Since I study French(among other things) at the Uni I try to read as much French as I can, that includes the French MMA forums. Their hate towards Dana and the UFC is incredibly developped. They are still crying about the death of Pride, will probably never get over it. Their rankings are beyond ridiculous, you're lucky if you see a couple of long-time UFC fighters(Franklin,Sylvia) in their top 10.
They're all the exact opposite of our TUF noobs, but this is not as nice as it sounds.

Some of them actually think that the losses of the former Pride fighters were worked bouts.

Max, could you explain to us, instead of acting French?
