Socialism in Canada?
I don't know much about this but I have been in some 1 sided conversations with some friends at work.
I work in the auto industry as an assembler here in Ontario.
Sounds like we are (all) in for quite the change. Now that globalization is (has been) in, we have to compete with countries making cars where they pay almost slave wages and offer little in what we know as human rights.
We, imo as it stands for the money aspect, cannot compete with that. I don't think that even if American Axle(partial cause of auto industry slowdown) took their 50% pay-cut, as well as us, we still COULD NOT compete.
This looks like its growing and from what I hear 'Lou Dobbs' has been saying this for years.
A friend of mine said Canadas only bet on the table is to recognize socialism as a possible form of government. He says that with Canada, with abundance of resources and low population, it would succeed, if not only the threat to go there change the direction. (We can buy South Korean automobiles(products), but we CANNOT sell our vehicles(products) to them at this time)???
What do you guys think if any at all?
Thanks.
