Driving habits vs Illegal Immigration

I read an opinion and readers letters section of the local paper today. I saw something that dumbfounded me. A guy was ranting about "left lane vigilantes", meaning people who drive in the left lane and wont' move for faster traffic. He said signs say "Slower Traffic Keep Right". He said the sign doesn't specify a speed (thats the "Speed Limit" signs job) so the "Slower Keep Right" sign meant if a person is driving 70 mph in a 70 mph zone, and he is driving 90 mph, the 70 mph person is obligated by law to move (which is NOT the correct interpretation of the law). It is impossible for "slower traffic" to violate the "Keep right" law if they are driving the max speed limit and everyone is obeying the "Speed Limit" law because no one would be passing them.

Now, sorry for the long rant, but here is the crazy part: The writer went on to say the people who drive the speed limit in left lane, exact quote- "cause tailgating", "cause road rage" and "cause highway anger".

Wow. So, a person who is abiding by the law driving 70 mph in a 70 mph zone is CAUSING the tailgating by forcing the person behind them to break the law and attempt to drive 90 mph? They are forcing the person breaking the law to have road rage? This was the ultimate "blame someone else" philosophy that pisses me off. The writer felt it wasn't his fault for tailgating, it was the other driver's fault for obeying the law while he was trying to speed. Fucking amazing logic, huh?

So, what does this have to do with immigration? It's the same logic. That somehow we entice them to break the law, and it's our fault they have to be illegal because we want the law to be followed. That if only we'd accept the breaking of the law, everyone would be happy. Isn't that the same logic? Thinking "You are forcing me to be an illegal immigrant because you won't excuse my breaking of the law"?

Anyway, I'm going on a road trip tomorrow. I hope I don't force an innocent driver to have to tailgate because I'm following the speed limit. I just had to share this. That writer thought the person obeying the speed limit was CAUSING him to tailgate?????!!!!!!!!

question for you bro, is it legal for a police officer to exceed the speed limit without the cherries going? i ask because since i have been stationed in Virginia the best place to be in traffic is right behind the trooper going 95 in a 70 for no good reason... the logic of many virginia drivers being if the cop gives you a ticker he damn well better give himself one... and that won't happen. how do you feel about this?

I admit it, I get pissed off when I pull up behind some yahoo going 70 in the fast lane on the 5 freeway or even worse, on the toll road. Wtf are these idiots thinking?

i think for the most part it's considerd a "passing lane" if you are'nt passing what need do you have to be there anyway(illinoise drivers in indiana i'm talking to you)

i'm not gonna lie... when someone flashes their brights at me on the freeway i SLAM on the brakes as hard and fast as i can and HOPE i cause an accident... i FUCKING hate those people and i would love nothing more than to see them fly through their windshield and into the back seat of my car so i can beat the fuck out of them...

not sure why but that causes me a lot of irrational anger... its just such a disruptive dick move.
