Do people vote for the person they want to be elected,
or do they vote against person they want to lose? This has been on my mind a lot lately, and it's really pissing me off!
I think now a days, people vote base on the opposition. For example, many republican voters will vote next November not based their candidate’s vision and direction for the country, but because they don't want Hillary to win. Same thing can easily be said for the other side as well.
I just think this is disgusting. That we have come to the point that we are consistently picking the lesser of two evils. America does not vote with it's conscience it votes to deny the other side a victory. People are so polarized that they believe the world will come crashing down if the other side wins, so they will blindly vote for their side every fucking time. This creates a variety of problems. One problem is people will stop educating themselves on their candidates, and do more research on reasons why not to vote for the other side. The ole my evil is less evil than your evil. Doesn’t make any sense does it? Another problem this creates is the Politicians running will not put their ideas up for criticism or praise. That just gives the other side another reason not to vote for them. And they don’t have to explain their vision. We vote based on character, religion, values, looks, sound bites, and the other side sucking. So not only do we not even care about the vision of our elected leaders, they wouldn’t tell us beforehand since they don’t really have one.
So next time you consider voting for someone, ask yourself, why am I voting for this person, and what is it about this persons visions, plans, and platform that I think will advance this country?
If you can’t answer this, then you are an ignorant voter.
BTW, I am voting for Ron Paul because I think is plans for monetary reform, tax policy, and foreign policy will lead this country in the right direction.
