thank god the democrats won. i dont think i could have withstood the endless bitching and accusations about voting fraud if the republicans had done well, even though it was a big possiblity.

If they play it smart they will promote popular democratic issues IE raise the minimum wage, some protectionist economic legislation, perform a bunch of anti-coruption song and dance that will go over well with voters and the Democrats will have a strong hand in 08.

As were the best. Ghandi never compromised on non-violence, MLK never compromised on civil rights or non violence, that Jesus guy didnt compromise. They ignored reality, and changed it. Stalin and Hitler would side with anyone, or do anything, to further their cause. Their idealogy wasnt their #1 concern, their own personal ambition was.
It was pragmatic idiots who dont believe in anything, and therefore couldnt stand for anything, that got us into Iraq. It was idealogues like Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd who voted against it. It was pragmatist moderats like Biden and Hilary who voted for it.
