Clarification required from Ron Paul supporters

I like a lot of what Ron Paul has to say. The issues I disagree with him on (stem cell research & abortion), I am willing to overlook since it seems (correct me if I'm wrong) that he would be leaving those issues to be decided by the State. My question is regarding Supreme Court nominees. If Ron Paul were president, would we see a conservative Christian nominated to the Supreme Court?

Someone who supports Roe vs. Wade being over-turned?

More than likely someone who views Roe v. Wade as a violation of the 10th amendment. The idea is to empower the states according the powers designated to them by the constitution.

So, it would be over-turned, and then the individual states would decide whether, and to what extent abortion will be legal in that state?

exactly, the key here is to scale back the power of the federal government.

It is a possibility. However, the case would have to come up and be granted certiorari before it would be modified in any way. This is more difficult then one would think as it would take a State passing a law banning abortion, or something similar that provides the question of whether abortion is a privacy right, or whether it is something that can be restricted by the States. Abortion is definitely a tricky issue overall, and is one that many people cannot seem to find common ground on. This is why I approve of a State based approach as different States can more accurately reflect the beliefs of the majority of their citizens.

Roe v. Wade isn't even the case anymore. It's planned parenthood v. casey.

I see this coming up if a state bands partial birth abortions.

RP would give the nod to a constitutionalist.

The Federalists would absolutely LOVE a Ron Paul appointed Supreme Court Justice.
