what is "checkered" about a sex tape and what does that have to do with same-sex marriage? Once again your confusing morality with legislation. From what I've heard of her statements, she hasn't ridiculed gay people, she's just against people of the same sex from being married. She may still be for civil unions, and she may not even think homosexuality is immoral.

First, Civil unions do not equate to marriage. Just note the list of federal beneifts that are not available to civil union couples. This argument fails to undestand that "separate but equal" is an injustice perpetrated on the less powerful.
And I'm not the one confusing morality with legislation ... those opposing equal access to marriage are.
Assuming you're right that she is simply against gays having the right to marry,
(

) why does she care?
If it's all about the sanctity of marriage, might I remind you that the U.S. has a divorce rate of over 50%. Adultery rates are shocking, and most child molestation is perpetarated overwhelmingly by heterosexuals. So, it doesn;t seem like straight married couples think much of marriage anyway.
Did I mention that hot-assed Carrie Prejean has a sex tape!
