In reality, this is all about government recognition. That's the precedent, nothing more. It's not about gay rights. A gay person can marry anyone I can marry. They are asking for the rules to be changed to cater to the minority. The difference here, (It's actually laughable you'd even make this argument) is that black males or females were restricted from marrying someone from the opposite sex. There is no comparison there. You're just flat out wrong in making the comparison.

Again you miss the point and move the discussion into your own rants. What I was talking about was public perceptions. From my point of view, not yours, forty years from now, this gay rights debate will be viewed in the same way that inter-racial marriage is now. Even someone with your mind set sees it as no big deal, but back in the day 90% were against it.
You say "You're flat out wrong in making the comparison," but the only place that comparison existed was in your own mind. Are you having discussions in your mind with your conception of me?
My original post was a little joke for others to enjoy. I had nothing more to add because I'm not really interested in this topic. Its as if I'm already forty years down the road on this one. What is the big deal? Why do people have so much hate inside? Flat-earth losers.
I'm sorry I got your panties all bunched up with a crack about your butt buddies.

States rights means making laws for your own state, not overruling something that was voted on by the people twice.

You're point of view is wrong. It's an insult to African Americans to compare their struggle for racial equality, to that of gays struggling to change the rules to fit their selfish lifestyles.
Gays are not discriminated against like blacks were ok? That's an absolute fact. I couldn't marry a man as a heterosexual person. Neither could a gay person. Our rights were the same. This is very important so read carefully. Gays were asking for a "Special Right" to marry someone who we already had an equal right not being to marry. Blacks on the other hand couldn't marry someone of the opposite sex that I could. That was discrimination. In that regard blacks didn't have the same rights as anyone else. I really hope you can grasp that simple distinction and stop looking like a complete moron.

Let's go back to what you said:
Quote:
A better and more relevant case example would be interracial marriage. The majoity of voters said no, but the courts would not allow for this kind of restriction on individuals. Imagine where this bback ass country would be if mixed marriages were banned.
Your resistance to this ruling says more about you than anything else. Are you a closet pole smoker or have dreams about getting pluked in jail for your mental crimes?
|
A better and more relevant case example. Looks like a comparison to me. Not only this, but you're to equate someone who disagrees with gay marriage as someone who was a racist and disagreed with interracial marriage. The same MO from you usual. Trying to box people and label them in attempt to shut up their opinion. You're pathetic.

All i did was call you a tool (which is true) and you're panties got into a bunch. Lol, can you make an argument without labeling somebody something? Can you even make a statement without name calling? You just can't argue the facts can you?

Why do you confuse inter-racial marriage with blacks struggling for racial equality?
What a mess.

Why can't you grasp that interracial marriage and the discrimination people experienced because of it has no relevance whatsover to gay marriage?
Why can't you just admit you were wrong?

Wrong about what?
I told you my point had to do with public perception. You have entered in all of this other irrelevant crap. It is of your doing and it is pathetic.
Just read your last paragraph of your last post. You begin by acknowledging that you called me a name, tool. Then you go on to accuse me of name calling. What a joker, you open the door and then cry about it. I wouldn't have resorted to that without your permision.
I don't care what you have to say about gay marriage and I'm not going to entertain your arguments about it either. I'm not interested. Find somebody who is.

That's true in most "people's republics" - like the "people's republic" of N. Korea or Cuba, etc..
