They are weak compared to hte bang of oil. Facts are a b%tch, aren't they!?!

You're a complete imbecile. And a selfish dick to boot. We have no choice but to go to multiple atl. energy sources. We cannot drill our way out of this without polluting the planet beyond repair. Ever been to Mexico City?LA?Tokyo? Large chunks of the planet will be like this if we keep raping it. Our oceans are already littered with dead zones thanks to our selfishness. Kind of hard to fish if life can't be sustained in water.

But you just keep thinking of your wallet and your cozy lifestyle. Your children and their children will curse you for it.

We also heard the 10 year argument awhile ago and how it was useless because it takes "too long". Well, right about now is that ten year mark and we'd be reaping the benefits of it at a VERY crucial time. Good job democrats!
No,it would barely make a dent. You drillers continue to fuck up and forge about the WORLDWIDE demand for oil. We will NEVER be self-sufficient through domestic drilling. EVER. Get that thru your thick skulls.

The time for change is now an change means hybrids, alt energy and everything else besides more backwards 'thinking'.

LOL, great idea... lease away our resources for nearly nothing so that oil companies can drill for oil to sell to china.

All for an estimated 2 cents per gallon reduction in oil prices after 30 years.

For all of the self-righteous imbeciles posting on this thread, preaching about America needing to “grow up” and relieve its oil dependency, I have a few questions:

Why do you think everyone, besides yourselves, is completely fucking stupid? Why do you assume that supporting drilling translates to foregoing progression relative to alternative energy sources?

Get your fucking heads out of your asses. In case you haven’t noticed, we are at the point of NO RETURN when it comes to alternative energy initiatives. If we were able to double the domestic oil production in America tomorrow, the demand for alternative energy sources WILL NOT GO AWAY. It will NEVER go away. Everyone knows it.

There isn’t a single drilling supporter that is saying we need to drill for oil in order to save money on having to invest in alternative energy sources. Have you heard ANYONE say that? Of course not, therefore you need to stop implying it.

The drilling initiatives are designed to be a stop-gap as we transition to alternative energy sources. The threat alone of doing it has already caused a positive shift in oil pricing. If the ONLY two options were:

A – Drill and forget about alternative energy initiatives

Or

B – Don’t drill and focus exclusively on alternative energy initiatives

THEN…… you have a reason to bitch. The GOOD news is that drilling proponents are all about this option:

C – Drill AND focus on alternative energy initiatives.

As we move away from Iraq and irresponsible federal spending, the finances to support both actions will free themselves.

Wrap your little brains around that if at all possible and quit thinking they sky will fucking fall if we try to achieve TWO objectives (drill & transition to alt energy).
