Edwards was the VP candidate in 2004 and his accent didn't help much then.

I get your point and youre right but I dont think this election is comparable to 2004 because where Obama lacks is from Democrats that either have a problem with hiss race or more importantly dont know him or havent researched his policies. If anything Edwards helps because, he is a recognized Southern White male. Although not typically a very strong one.

Right - just saying I think there are better examples. Although he works on paper - humble background, Southerner, Christian - I don't think he relates well to the rural type swing voters that ultimately decide elections. I'd be surprised if he was chosen again. He didn't deliver the state he served as senator (and he was unpopular by the end of his only senate term there) and he didn't deliver the state he was born in either. People don't empathize with him although demographically, he's a good fit

Edwards is like the high school dork that placates the hot girls in high school in the attempt that someone will like him enough to grant him some level of popularity and for the off chance one will get drunk enough for him to get some action. The guy is a non-factor except he keeps sticking his face in front of the cameras.

Obama will hurt himself more than help if he makes this nothing his running mate.
