Now 57 or 58 states, does that include Michigan and Florida who he wants disenfranchised in the primaries?

Obama's misspeak was a slip of the tongue. He meant 47 (4 primaries are left - Oregon, Montana, South Dakota and Kentucky). McCain's
repeated error showed a lack of understanding the miliary situation in Iraq.
It's not Obama's fault that MI and FL violated the rules of the DNC and had their delegates thrown out and votes not counted. Obama is in full support of a revote or compromise being made (e.g. split the delegates) to have those states represented. It's not fair to him that the delegates be seated as is. His name was not on the ballot in Michigan. He didn't campaign in Florida out of respect for the rules of the DNC. If the DNC cannot come to a compromise on how to seat the delegates it is the faut of the primary organizers. They are to blame for the voters being disenfranchised.
It was clever of Obama to stage Edwards endorsement announcement in Michigan. He will try to improve relations in those states as they will be important in the general election.
