San Diego has a hispanic underclass, lacks a real mass transit system, and most importantly (and in common with all US cities) does not have universal health care. But I am a professional with a car and a health care plan and a hispanic cleaning lady. That means that I have easier access to transportation than some slob in Zurich or Amsterdam with a trolley pass, and far better access to health care than someone in Alberta (where there is a real health care crisis which, somehow, doesn't register on the Mercer index since its still "universal").

1. Toronto has some of the top schools and universities in the world, and leads all American cities in education, both mental and physical.
2. It is one of the safest cities on earth, and the safest metropolitan city in North America.
3. It is the most multicultural city in the world.
4. It has some of the best museums, art galleries and entertainment in the world.
5. It has a distinct culture, not found anywhere else, and deep tradition.
6. Citizens in Toronto have a higher quality of life then any city in America.

In conclusion, there is more to a city then the weather. Toronto is better then San Diego in every category. However comparing the two is wrong, because they are much different. If you want a city because of the views, and weather, go to Vancouver. Another great city.
