30 Days
I was just wondering if anyone watches 30 Days (sorry, don't know if the show is available outside the US)? It's a show where you basically walk in another person's shoes for 30 days. Not totally realistic (basically because like any reality show, people conduct themselves differently when they're on camera, and you aren't really walking in the other person's shoes because you can always bail at any point in time, while the other person is stuck in their situation permanently) or objective (they cast for the show, I'm sure, and try to make their point, I'm sure). But it's still interesting. They'll have a straight guy live with a gay guy for 30 days. A christian live with a muslim for 30 days, etc. In the last show they had a minuteman live with illegal immigrants for 30 days.
Entertaining show. Gets you to think about the other side of a point of view. Any thoughts..?

It got moved..?
Yeah, you know they edit that thing to acheive a certain effect but still...I think that guy definitely had second thoughts after he saw a more human face put on the whole issue.

Yeah, he woesnt budging until he went to Mexico and saw what there living conditions were like. And how much oportunity was there.
I think we need to change things in our country by punishing any companies who hire illegals. The young girl striving and yearnign for the American dream was also moving. Kinda goes againts the lazy dirty mexican idea.

That girl was very impressive. I didn't really understand how that works...How do you get into college and get loans and scholarships if you're illegal? Still, I felt like she deserved to go to college. I thought it was odd though, that they only focused on her and not the other kids at all. And I'm sorry but if you're dirt fucking poor then why would you have not just one kid but several. Hello? If you are that poor why the hell would you proceed to have 3 or 4 kids?
Anyway, yes I think he grasped that if he were in their position he would do the exact same thing and try to get to America any way he could.
Oh and about the lazy stereotype thing, the dad seemed pretty hardworking too.

Not to mention what they were giving up to be in America. It meant that much to them, to give there kids a shot. Like not being able to see there parents and brothers and sisters. Not being able to visit graves and all that.
