Part of being a citizen of any country is to be in alligence with the nation itself. That's what civilization is all about; becoming part of something bigger than yourself.

The kid is stupid, he should have stood regardless of his beliefs. I hate people who always want to "stand out" and just have to make their opinions known to everyone about the slightest thing.

Actually they are the ones trying to cram their beliefs down his throat, not the other way around.

Rofl @ Americans getting angry because he didn't "stand up for his country", when your pledge has a deep religious meaning to it.

They have more Pride in what they believe then any of you fucking sheep.

I guess it's fine for all religions to die for America, but only one can be honored by the country. What a joke.

Wow fucking sheep. Very clever. Standing up for the pledge makes you a sheep. I had never thought about that in such a dumb manner. Thanks for opening my eyes. Standing when a judge enters a courtrooms? Also a very sheep like attitude. Stabding when a ranking officer enters the room? Baaahh. Or maybe, it denotes showing a shred of respect. Whether you agree with the judge/pledge/senior officer or not, it is a respect issue. Also making them pledge is not necessary. But standing is a small price for respect, whether you say the pledge or not.

When the pledge quotes the Christian God, people of other religions have a right not to stand for that. Again, what if it was One Nation, Under Buddha or Allah or Satan. You wouldn't stand either out of "respect"

Yes, to be in allegiance with the NATION, but not when it claims a Christian god
