Valero gonna give Barrera the edge to beat Pacquiao?

So Valero denies reports that he was stabbed in Venezuela and is now sparring with Barrera. Will Valero's aggressiveness and and power give Barrera enough of an edge to beat Pacquiao?

Valero did train with Morales for the first Morales-Pacquiao fight.

No, it won't give him the edge. Pac-man is too fast, too strong, and in his prime right now. Barrera is going to take a beating, and no sparring partner in the world will prepare him for it. I really don't even want to see this fight, as I have no desire to watch a legend get beaten into retirement in a fight where he is clearly overmatched.

Valero should learn a lot in these sessions. It was a good move for him to work with MAB. He'll learn a lot.

You might have to add Marco to the other thread about fighters getting waxed in sparring.

it will better prepare him for what pac brings to the table which is crazy athleticism (i.e. handspeed/footspeed/power/explosiveness and business)...

its hard to find sparring partners w/similar phys attributes; iits easy to find tech and slicksters, its hard to find a guy w/that freaky phys ability.

valero will help him be prepared to deal w/pac; but to me barrera's legs aren't there and neither is his will to soak up and dish out the abuse necessary to beat pac

Why do people write off Barrera’s chances completely? He has proved people wrong on many occasions and Pacquiao is far from unbeatable.

Pac has been out-boxed convincingly in the past and there’s no one better to do it again than MAB. Marco will fight a much better fight this time and I wouldn’t be the LEAST bit surprised to see his hand raised at the end either.

Agreed. I actually think Barrera will win this fight. Why? Because he had some personal problems during the first fight and Manny seems like he is more caught up with girlfriends on the side, politics and partying in his homeland than with taking MAB seriously for this fight.
