A lot of people (who should know better) ruin Boxing Promotion for themselves. Fernando Vargas had his "When Worlds Collide" tournament here, and in it's face it looked fantastic. Buffalo Bill's Star Arena is a nice venue, and it was never empty for Fight nights. Problem was they gave away more tickets than they sold, the pricing was messed up, and the marketing just wasn't that good.
It's tough to make money in the Fight Game when you spend money in the wrong places, and also don't get everyone involved to work on selling. If I sign to Fight and people close to me know it, I make sure everyone knows free tickets are not good, because if they don't pay, I don't eat. If every Fighter on the card did that, they'd build audiences better, and if they spent more money on advertising as opposed to production, the word would get out more. Small Boxing shows here even stupidly compete with one-another, putting on events on the same nights. It's ridiculous.
