Gunshots to the body are not as common as head shots in men....You certainly run the risk of having to shoot yourself a second time if the bullet misses a vital. This point alone is, if nothing else, cause to give the case a 2nd hard glance....but I'll bet the authorities have already done that.
It depends on what authorities you're talking about. Nicaragua has nowhere remotely near the Justice system we have here. And Arguello was not politically well-received being as he was known for Championing for the poor. I don't LIKE to cry conspiracy theory, nor do I deny that Arguello had his demons, but this ordeal doesn't smell good based on what facts are available alone.

KK.....after he quit fighting, I never really followed the news as to what AA was up to. I knew he had some marriage troubles, and I remember seeing him in an episode of Miami Vice (ironically, he is killed with a shotgun blast to the torso in that episode). I knew he was political to some extent, but I didn't follow up on his politics.

The authorities (cops, prosecutors, etc. ) run the risk of appearing corrupt or incompetent should the case be reopened somewhere down the line. It would be a major embarrassment (if they happen to care- who knows ?) to show that the case was half-assed. It would also arm the political opponents with enormous propaganda which could sway an election in the wrong direction. It could also turn him into a martyr of sorts which could be harmful to his political opponents party. Lots of risk involved there.

And not to be an asshole....BUT HAS THERE EVER BEEN A CENTRAL AMERICAN POLITICIAN WHO DIDN'T CHAMPION THE POOR ?

People who shoot themselves in the heart/body tend to be vain people.....People who are concerned with their looks and don't want to damage their facial features....Women will often (when they use a gun) shoot themselves in the chest or stomach so that they don't damage their face. I don't know enough about AA personally to know if this is the case with him or not.

Could it be a doctored homicide scene ?......It would'nt shock me if it was.

But I doubt it..........

Not to turn this into a blood orgy fest but shooting yourself in the head leaves quite the mess, more so than I ever imagined.I had just envisioned that it was a quick hole in the head.................................... .........Then I saw the Budd Dwyer suicide video and that shocked the hell out of me.The thought of just shooting myself in the head troubles me greatly and someone finding me in such a state creeps me out and I would never want to leave such an image in a loved one's head..................so perhaps certain suicide victims are not as selfish as they are usually accused to be...................................... ..I hope none of you are undercover workers at suicide hotline because I can assure you I AM NOT SUICIDAL!

Sure life's crap but floyd mayweather is coming back soon and antonio margarito will hopefully have his name cleared from the great injustice that he has suffered and at last but not least R.I.P Alexis Arguello

I watched the fight vs Pryor last night on Espn.
Sad.

How many time did the commentators say how good of a guy he was and how honest he was throughout the fight? Many times.

Sad.

For one, sure there's been countless Central American politicians/dictators who absolutely do not Champion for the poor. I still just think you're looking at this through too sophisticated of an eye. My Father is originally from Central America, and I don't know one Central American concerned with looking "incompetent" over a crime they did or didn't commit. Crime in those Countries isn't about efficiency. Generally, I find if something smells bad, it typically is, and when just reading what's there...it doesn't click unless one strives to make it click by doing a whole lot of assumption.

Sure, most suicides are that way at the end of the day, right? Again, I'm not saying he DIDN'T do it to himself, I'm just saying given what there is I'm not convinced of that.

KK.....You may be right. I'm certainly not an expert on Nicaraguan forensics or Central American politics.

I usually shy away from conspiracies when they arise.....They usually involve too many people for it to be plausible.....and we all know human nature. Somebody eventually will talk if something is up.

On that I agree. It becomes a "hurry up and wait" situation. But unfortunately in those places, assassinations, even somewhat higher profile ones, just get swept aside. And this wasn't even VERY high-profile by comparison. I'm sure Boxing fans might think so, because we're Familiar with Alexis and at one time he was a Global figure, but as of now it's pretty much a shoulder shrug situation.
