For people criticising the Haye-Valuev fight
Why? David Haye executed an almost perfect gameplan to get the win in there. Did you really expect him to have a toe to toe war with a guy who is 7 stone heavier, almost a foot taller and who has never been KO'd?!
He did what Chagaev and Holyfield did and did it well, he even managed to rock Valuev which i've never seen before. Perhaps he should have thrown more to ensure the rounds, but had this been a fight in a neutral country with no established champ i'm pretty sure no-one would have given that fight to Valuev, the guy barely landed anything!
On top of all that he executed that gameplan with a broken right hand.
It annoys me that there are people on here calling Haye boring when he has been slugging with people for years. That's only the 5th time he's gone past the 5th round i think. David Haye is exactly what the HW championship needs to get it out of the mire. Big, brash and confident and able to bang with the best of them.
I'm hoping he will take on Wlad next and beat him. That would set up a massive unification bout with Vitali that might revive interest in the division and boxing on the whole.
Mind you, i don't think he'd beat Vitali.

People are being pretty harsh on Haye considering the size difference and the fact that he damaged his hand early in the fight.

I agree, it's a stupid criticism. Know how I'd Fight Valuev? From about 100 yards away with a Sniper Rifle.

It's not a matter of his elusiveness. That's fine and well.
It's his inactivity. How do you win rounds when you're being outworked?
Sure, Valuev missed alot of shots, but he still landed more.
And isn't there something to be said about ducking below your opponent's waist line? Isn't that an infraction of the rules (Maybe it's not, but I thought it was).

Chageav and Holyfield clearly won and engaged Valuev, hell I thought Ruiz even did more than Haye did, but Valuev is not the champ, just a belt holder anyways and has had his share of gifts. Hopefully we get a compubox total soon. So while I still feel Valuev did enough to win and I never thought I'd be saying that, props to Haye. He got the knod. I was watching the english broadcast to btw.

What does Chagaev and Holyfield have to do with this fight?
Each fight should be judged on their own merit. I thought Holyfield won too but that has no bearing on this fight. Are you too simple minded to understand this?
Also, exactly what did Valuev do?

Valuev didn't land a single telling blow in 12 rounds.

But it will also help if we have a heavyweight that's willing to exchange.
Bold and brash are fine, but throwing punches are better. That is assuming boxing matches don't boil down to having the winner decided by whether or not he was able to wobble his opponent once in the final round.... (or at least in the minds of the fans).

Valuev landed no noteworthy shots throughout the entire fight.

Please Sinister, define that qualification "telling".
I don't care if Valuev only landed jabs throughout the whole fight. It was still more than what Haye did.
