The point really isnt the judges score card. Sure De La Hoya dominated the fight, but if u saw De La Hoya's face after that fight, I mean u could tell he had been in a fight. Mayweather I guarantee comes out of that fight unscathed.

If Forbes messed up De La Hoya's face like that, imagine a quicker, stronger 100 time more skilled Mayweather and what he will do.

Remember this time they fight will be more at Mayweather's weight unlike last time.

I'll be honest. Not the biggest fan of Teddy Atlas. Maybe because I don't like his fight predictions.

It's not so much his predictions, but as a fighter I find his commentary priceless. I've learned a lot just listening to the guy.

On the subject of Oscar's face and how marked up he was, well, I agree he was a bit ugly post-fight. Mayweather certainly wouldn't have looked nearly that bad.

But guess what? Forbes wouldn't look so bad, either. As a matter of fact, he'd probably hit the discount liquor store without going to see the doc post fight and party with the twenty five dollars he'd have made from a Mayweather fight.

He'd make a little more than 25 dollars. Id think he'd reach 3 figures against Mayweather.

Thats the key point right there. The fight Oscar chose to fight. De La Hoya seemed to be enjoying his work last night. He's never been one to shy away from contact and he managed to make a possibly stinker of a fight, into an exciting one.

How? Because he forced Forbes to do more than simply defend himself and survive. Why? Because thats the way Oscar has always been. His fights aren't boring and he's versatile enough to make sure of that. Love him or hate him, Oscar is one of the rarer fighters in history. It'll be a LONG time before anything like him comes along again.

had this exact conversation with one of the old schoolers i watch all the fights with.

before last night we pointed to SSM-ODLH 1. He chose to fight SSM after he chose to box Tito. Rare.

Our feelings were if he wasnt such a pretty face the hardcore would give him more love.
