I might have given Forbes 2 rounds, but those were because Oscar took a brief break. But even then, he didn't convincingly won those rounds. And I didn't feel forbes held back. Everytime he went after Oscar, Oscar came back with greater aggression and won the exchange. He was hesitant because he didn't want to eave himself open to be hit by something big.

forbes marked up de la hoya pretty good in the first few rounds. a puncher, like cotto, would devastate him.

lol at anyone who buys the manny steward "best oscar in 10 years. nonsense. in all the years of the hbo crew cheerleading in a biased fashion, this was by far the worst performance they have ever had.

I agree. Oscar is there money generating machine. Of course they are going to push him. But you got to give Oscar some credit for performing consistently for 12 rounds. I was slightly impressed. And of course Forbes is no mayweather. Larry was not accepting Manny's bullshit analysis.

4. My Dad who is a boxing fan all his life and a former amateur thought Forbes was holding back and was paid to lose. Anyone agree with him?
i don't think forbes held back. he just didn't have any power and oscar hits fairly hard. If Oscar had paid him to lose, he would have a million reasons to try to win the fight anyway. Imagine the windfall from beating De La hoya.

Although Oscar didnt look his best he fought a reasonably good fight. I hope he trains for mayweather like he should.

Entirely predictable.

Forbes is decent fighter, but dramatically undersized. He lacks kayo power at lower weight classes let alone for this fight. And his shortness makes it pretty darn hard to get inside and outwork Oscar. This was a great matchup for a "tune up" fight. Forbes was made-to-order (or whatever the expression is).
