It was and wasn't. It was a good stoppage, at a terrible time.

Honestly this and the Castillo/Corrales are the most controversial fights that I believe are justified.

Castillo was clearly out, but people are complaining about the standing count that the ref didnt give

The only fight that CLEARLY pissed me off (Seriously) was the Chop Chop Corley vs Cotto.

He took 2 hits while he was knocked down, then took a knee and the ref stopped the fight. Hometown bias at its finest

You don't wave off a fight when a Champion Fighter beats the count, with 2 seconds left in the fight, and he's on his feet holding himself up. Richard gave a very good and distinct reason behind it, but it's just a shitty thing to do because outside of waving the fight off, Meldrick won the fight itself.

I did think Corrales was given a bit more leeway than Castillo, but I also think Castillo could have been killed taking flush shots from Chico while limp.

Not to mention that he'd have been eating quite a lot of them since he was pinned against the ropes and was being held up by them while Chico threw his sledgehammers at his jaw.

Yeah, it was as bad as Diego crawling around on all fours hardly aware of where he was, with one eye closed, spitting out his mouthpiece.

Tru dat, but at the same time Chico wasn't being hit while he was impersonating Scooby Doo.
