The Sherdog Boxing Council presents to you the Official Prediction Contest. A chance for you to show your Boxing knowledge superiority and be declared all-around fight reading Guru. Each month we will have the new fights listed and you'll have roughly 1 week to comprise and submit your rankings. So edit on your own time and submit when you have your predictions to your liking, once in it's all a gamble.
Here are the basic rules just so we all know:
1. Submissions are made once and only once.
2. You must make a prediction for every fight on the table.
3. In this version of the contest points WILL be taken away for incorrect predictions. This will seperate the men from the boys in knowing yo' shit.
Scoring is as follows:
2 points for picking the correct winner of a fight. Simple enough. You pick the winner, you get two points.
Bonus points for winning picks:
2 extra points for method of victory (if you pick your fighter to win by KO and the KO happens).
2 extra points for timing of victory (if you pick your fighter to win by KO "late" and the KO comes beyond the middle round of a fight).
Here's how the timing breaks down:
EARLY = Rounds 1-3
MID = Rounds 4-7
LATE = Rounds 8-12
5 extra points for a perfect pick (if you pick your fighter to KO the other guy in the 5th, and that happens.)
***No points will be awarded in draws unless you predict a draw. Like the fighters, everyone loses with draws unless you predicted the draw, then it's scored as normal with 2 points.
Detractions:
-1 point for any incorrect pick.
The Prizes:
The Sherdog Boxing Council has constructed our own Title Av that is on-the-line for the undisputed Champ of Boxing Knowledge around these parts. So the winner of the Prediction Contest gets to Sport this for the whole month until the next winner is picked:
