The Hearns and Tyson are both AWESOME. Nice work all around. You should be very proud.

I'm a professional artist, and I have to say, you definitely have your shit together! You are making a lot of sales which is really hard to do early on. Looks like you have found your niche. Keep up the great work! You should be charging at least $25/hr as an emerging artist. It sounds like a lot, but it's not really.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the positive feedback I have been getting.

HardKnocks: What type of mediums do you work with? You got a website or an online portfolio so I can check out your work?

Hey don't say that. I still want to see that series of lesser-knowns and it'll be monumentally easier to sketch it than paint it.

Lol, I'm joking of course. Just excited about how this one is coming around. I Havent forgotten about the Eubanks, Burely's, and Louis Lopez' of the world either. No worries. The painting is taking about the same amount of time as one of the sketches so far. It's easier (to me anyway) to get the grey tones smoothed out and to match the scaling of the shading with the brushes then it is to layer the tones with the graphite.

Here is my first painting. I started it over the weekend. 9x12 canvas board. Combination of watercolor and Sumi ink. Came out real nice. Just check out the difference between the Chico sketch(page 1) and this painting. No comparison.

Diego Chico Corrales (3/16/08)

Let me know what you guys think of the painting. Thanks.

Edit: Added some stubble around his goatee and darkened/lightened up a couple of spots to make it look more like the actual picture and give it some more depth... Still a bit to be done.

seriously, the depth level of the painting holds a little more magic for me. The most "Alive" of your works. The tupac comes close, but I'd still favor this.

I bet you get more work with the watercolor/acrylics .... least you will from me!!

check ya PM's.

Man that chico one brings tears to my eyes. Absoultely beautiful.

I might seriously consider one after a see a few more, hopefully an action one cause I think id like one like that. Specificially maybe a good action shot from the Mancini Kim fight. I think it would be a great memorial to another fallen warrior.
