Hey thats cool stuff man. There seems to be a lot of people out their depicting MMA personalities with pencil and paper, not so much Boxers though. Which is a shame.

I only have one piece uploaded so far, so I dont think its worthy of its own thread, just thought Id post it in here.

Obviousley it needs work, and is unfinished. But, I think its ok for the circumstances in which it was drawn. I stayed up all night, the night before it was due as my final project in Art, started at 11pm and ended around 3 or 4 am. De La Hoya's eyes are off, as well as Mayweather's folded arms. Not the greatest pic either.

Dope man, keep at it. Take your time next time you sit down to do one. I start one and if I run into problems, I'll put it away and try and forget about it, and then come back to it later. Sometimes the more I try and fix things, the more I fuck it up lol.

Haha, I know what you mean man. Yea, I really should have started that De La Hoya PBF drawing several weeks in advance, but hey it was senior year, so I just had to wait till the night before.

Well, seeing other people drawing makes me want too, I think Ill start something tonight.

I really need to get a better scanner. The one I have takes so much of the shading and depth out of the original sketches.

Edit: Putting all new photos on page one to keep them all in the same spot.

Edit: Cant put all photos in first post because it only allows 6 img codes.

Try getting a Mustek A3 ScanExpress scanner, fits 11¾ inches x 17 inches, great for artists.

I got one brand new about 3 years ago for $220 Canadian I think. (I'm in Canada. $220 Can was about $170 American at the time. Not like now where $1 Can is about the same as $1 Amer. For a while, the Canadian money was actually worth a few cents more!)

Big surface, good scans at an affordable price. I think it's been a great product because of the large scans I make.

I hear there may be a problem with out-dated drivers though; I wouldn't know because my computers a few years old, and the scanner has always worked fine. Works good with Photoshop.

Go to ebay.com, type in Mustek A3, and you'll see lots of them there.
I don't think there's any other large format scanners that are affordable like the Mustek A3.
It's been ideal for me, and it was a great investment.

RE shading: After scanning, you should always adjust the scan in Photoshop or a similar program. The raw, untouched scan never looks just like the original image, but if you adjust usually the Levels, Color Balance, or the Brightness/Contrast, you can make the image look closer to how the original image appears.
