Former or current Michigan amateur boxers
I boxed in the amateurs in Michigan from 1999 to 2001 (My sophmore, junior, and senior years of high school). Is there anybody else on Sherdog that boxed in the amateurs during that time in Michigan?

I trained at the Irish Hills Boxing Club in Brooklyn, MI. My trainer was Bob Kerr. I miss boxing alot and I have some great memories from fighting.

Hell yeah Bobby and PBO. Gotta keep this sh!t going.

A quick update on almost everyone's favorite SHW fighter Mike Hunter Jr.

At the Olympic trials 2007 Hunter beat Kimdo Bethel twice and won the tournament. At the World Championships 2007 he beat Kurban Günebakan 30:7 and Jasem Delavari and lost 15 to 22 against Islam Timurziev.

At the first qualifier he beat Oscar Rivas but lost to Cuban Robert Alfonso 1:9, at the second he beat Didier Bence but afterwards lost to Jose Payares and lost his shot at the Olympics

Hunter is the guy most of us think has the best chance of making waves in the HW division. Here's to his future career, and another hopeful contender from the states.
