Is it now safe to say that North Americans have a problem with British fighters?

Considering the overall negative reaction by fans on here to Hayes win, is it not now clear that Americans have an obvious bias against fighters from Great Britain? Lets look at the facts shall we:

1) heavyweight division is in desperate need of a marketable fighter.

2) Valuev is Russian, not American.

3) Valuev outweighed haye by 7st.

4) Valuev has never been knocked out.

5) Valuev is a boring fighter who does nothing for the division in terms of boxing or personality and charisma.

6) Haye is British.

7) Haye is an undisputably exciting fighter who scores knock-outs in the overwhelming majority of his fights. He has charisma and hypes fights better that any other fighter in the division.

8) Haye beat Valuev discisively.

After Hayes victory it seems the majority of people on here want to degrade his win or wish he'd lost and are generally bitter about the whole situation. I find it really unbelievable that these people would rather Valuev be champ than Haye! like WTF!

How many Valuev fights have you watched? How many Haye fights? yet so many are on here calling Haye boring! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING!

This win is great for the heavyweight division. Fuck, I'm sorry that Haye is not the american heavyweight you have all been hoping for but damn, quit the hating. I have never understood the American's dislike for British fighters. I understand it from the scots, It's little man syndrome. But from the yanks?

wtf is your problem with british fighters???????????????????????

I'm not american. Haye is not needed in the HW division, there's no need of a saviour, the Klitschkos are fine. I'm looking forward to seeing Haye get destroyed by either of them, and I'm sure many people are too.

PS: Both Chagaev and Holyfield beat Valuev decisively, Haye didn't.

Your first mistake is thinking it's only Americans that post here or have a problem with how Haye fought that Fight. That shows your problem with Americans, not Americans' problem with Haye. The Fight sucked, it doesn't matter who says it, it still sucked.

I honestly dont have a problem with americans or american fighters. I do however have a problem with British fighters never getting the respect they deserve from American fans.

For the record though, I do realise that many americans, and many real boxing fans DO give respect where its due. They are just unfortunately outnumbered by the haters.

Why should Haye get respect for closely decisioning Valuev? I don't remember anybody hyping Chagaev after he decisively beat Valuev, can someone refresh my memory? And Holyfield, was he hyped as the main threat to the Klitschkos after beating Valuev too (at 46, mind you)?

Shot 46 year old Holyfield >>> Haye

I'm not hyping Haye. All I know is he beat Valuev and doesn't deserve hate for it. Also, I would LOVE for someone, anyone, to come and give the Klits a run for their money. They are both boring fighters who sit behind their jab and dont go for the kill early enough. I hope Haye can be that guy.

Also, It's not only americans who hate on Brits, lots of countries do. It goes back to imperialism if you ask me.

Eh. It is what it is.

As far as I'm concerned he brought it on himself. He hyped himself up so much yet come fight time he only threw 20 punches a round. Of course people are going to have a negative reaction if they are promised one thing and get something entirely different.

He got the job done. Anyone calling him a boring fighter off of that one fight needs to watch more Haye fights.
