Met David Tua

I wanted to post this a couple of weeks ago, but I couldn't get on the internet. David Tua has has training at the muay thai gym I go to. As some of you guys know, he has a fight here in Utah next month against some dude named Saul Montana. I thought that he would be a jerk or something, but he is not. He is really cool to me and says high to everyone;he even bows to our muay thai instructor! I hope he can get some kind of title before he retires.

He never struck as an arrogant guy to me. I have no idea why youd think that he is a jerk.

wait a minute...what made you think that Tua was going to be a jerk in the first place?
He never had a bad reputation. He's always been a rather calm & polite guy.

I think he was just surprised at a sports star being down to earth, not that he viewed Tua as a bad person.

Never met him, but I always liked the guy from what I saw of him on television. He seemed like an all around class act. And goddamn what a bruiser!

Anybody remember the story of when his car was stolen. It was years ago. His suv was stolen and then the thief saw his license which was in the car and returned it because he was a fan.
I've always liked Tua. I wish he would work harder though because his potential is insane. He could probably be champ if he would get himself down to 220 or so.

I've told this story numerous times before - but don't ever ask Oliver McCall when he's going to be fighting again.
Me asking him that almost lead to him beating me to a pulp. It was outside of the Palace of Auburn Hills after the Tyson/Golota fight. I went up to him, he was cool, shook my hand - told him I loved watching his fights then asked when he would be going after the belt again. He flipped out. I was only 5'8 about 165 lbs.... and he was walking right into me poking his finger into my chest and balling his other fist up.
I remember thinking - this guy is going to kill me with one punch. Thankfully a security guard kicked him off of the premises.
