Juan Diaz vs Michael Katsidis FOTY?

Okay,

Now all the problems with promotions/money and titles are out of the way. Juan "Baby Bull" Diaz and Michael "the Great" Katsidis are finally throwing down in Houston Texas. On Saturday, September 6th.

Diaz is the former WBO/IBF/WBA world champion and was the king pin of the lightweight devision. Katsidis was his Mandatory challanger as the WBO intrim world champion. Instead Juan took what he thought was a eaiser fight with Nate Campbell. Katsidis moved on and found a fight with Ring/WBC intrim world champ Joel Cassamayor. In the end both men (Diaz/Katsidis) lost their world title fights and now have to start again.

With both these fighters power punching and "brutal" style of fighting will this be a potential fight of the year?

I can see two bloodied faces at the end of the fight, who do you sherdoggers have taking this?

I like Juan Diaz a lot, I really do, but Michael is just IMO everything bigger and tougher than Diaz. I don't say that because he got splattered by Casamayor (for those who would point that out)...I say it because Michael would have kept fighting had it been allowed, and yes Graham Earle hurt him, but again he kept fighting. Casamayor's rattled how many World Class guys with that punch of his? And Michael did put him out the ring and was pulling ahead of the fight by my count.

Meanwhile the talented, and tough, yet inconsistent Nate Campbell stands right in front of Diaz and wings bombs all night to out-tough the young Bull. Being out-toughed is not a good sign to have over your head going into a scrap with a guy like Katsidis.

Juan is going to have to run the show from opening bell to closing bell to win the way I see it, and that's not going to happen.

^I can see where your coming from, my gut tells me this is a bad style match up for Juan.
Gonna be a great fight, they are probably gonna stand and trade all night. Problem is Juan doesnt have much pop, and Katsidis has a ton of it.

am I the only person who still thinks the Diaz vs. Campbell fight was bullshit? Diaz got headbutted right in the eye in round 1 and had blood dripping directly into his eyes for the entire fight. Despite this he still clearly won the first half of the fight IMO until in round 6 he got rocked with a blatantly late hit that busted the cut WIDE open and had him damn near blind for the rest of the fight. Despite all this going against him he still made it very close. If anything Juan's stock rose in my book rather than dropped after the Campbell loss and I'm ready to throw some $$ down on Diaz if they fight again.

As for diaz vs. kat I think it's a toss up I prob gotta go with Kats too tho, the one and only reason he lost to Casamayor was a lack of maturity but I think he learned a valueable lesson from that fight and as long as he keeps his head on straight I could see a good chance of him cleaning that division out.

Personally, I kinda hope it's a draw coz they're 2 of my fav fighters an I don't wanna see either of them lose but I'm still glad this fight's happening and it definitely has foty potential!

me too!! I say Katsidis wins because he has a bigger punch I can see a TKO in like the 11th or UD for Katsidis.

Yeah you probably are the only one who thinks that, Juan got tooled.
