I don't see any Johnson/Dawson threads.
Anyone give Johnson a shot?

I definitely give him a shot. It's gonna be another close fight imo.

I am rooting for Johnson. He is one of my favorite fighters and should be in my sig if i could fit more in there. I think he has a good chance of winning. It is going to be another close fight IMO, Dawson will probably get the nod but i think this is such an even matchup that it really could go either way. I can't wait for this fight.
HBO really has been putting on stellar fights for free. Showtime too. I've been getting my boxing fix like every few weeks lol.

We are going to get like 5 good programs in a 20 hour period or something like that:
Sengoku 11
Haye/Valuev
Pacquiao/Cotto 24/7 Episode 3 on HBO
Dawson Vs. Johnson on HBO (Free)
Strikeforce: Fedor Vs. Rogers (Free)
I'm pumped for this weekend.

I think HBO made a huge mistake making Johnson and Tarver rematches the first 2 fights on the network for Dawson. It'll be the same story as the Tarver rematch, Dawson will fight smart, outpoint Johnson and try not to do the things that got him hit last time.

Yea, i can definitely why this fight doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Especially at this time. I'm probably one of the few who is excited for it though. just because i've always thought Johnson could beat Dawson in a rematch. I wish it would of happened shortly after the first fight though. I do agree that Dawson will probably take the rematch. He has had time to improve too, and Johnson certainly isn't getting any younger.
I didn't even watch the Tarver rematch, it's not that i absolutely didn't want to watch it but i went on vacation and forgot about it. But it still wasn't a fight that i cared about much at all. I was scratching my head when they announced it. I wanted to see Calzaghe or B-Hop fight Dawson, but Calzaghe retired. RJJ would get beat by Dawson at this point. Cloud could be a good opponent in the future. I wouldn't mind seeing a Dawson/Adamek rematch in the future either.

HBO has a good lineup over the next month or so:
11/7
Chad Dawson vs Glen Johnson II
Alfredo Angulo vs Harry Joe Yorgey
11/14
Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto (PPV)
11/28
Lucian Bute vs Librado Andrade II
Joan Guzman vs Ali Funeka
12/5
Paul Williams vs Sergio Martinez
Chris Arreola vs Derric Rossy
12/12
Juan Diaz vs Paulie Malignaggi II
Victor Ortiz vs Antonio Diaz
^very good finish to a pretty boring 2009 for HBO Boxing. From July-October they basically offered NOTHING.
There was a big time decrease in the number of LIVE boxing events in 2009 from previous years:
2009: 20 (including the fights above^)
2008: 29
2007: 28
2006: 33

I only want Dawson to win because I think there would be incredibly interesting match ups between him and Tavoris Cloud or Jean Pascal (assuming Pascal beats Diaconu again).
I really like the potential at light heavy.
So many guys that I think can give great fights. One of my favorites is Yusaf Mack.
Chris Henry showed heart against Shaun George.
