Montiel has been down and hurt before. He's not perfect, or unbeatable by a long shot.

Montiel v Mijares/Munoz is where it's at. Donaire is a Fly.

Now that it'll be a definitive target and others will think all they have to do is hold up to his power and hit him back, we'll see.
The jury is indeed still out, the poking fun is just the residue of such a dramatic knockout by a guy who was supposed to be a sacrificial lamb.

Ya, it was one of the most picturesque KO's you'll see, right on the button, textbook shot, and Vic all but ran right into it. Like I said I loved the KO, and Donaire has impressed me. Of the names being tossed around here, I'm highest on Mijares and Donaire.

Mijares vs. Montiel is what I want. Munoz will lose to Mijares. Munoz has power, but his skills are not refined. And his chin is not that great. Castillo knocked him down a few times and despite being a good fighter, he's not the biggest hitter (Montiel destroyed Castillo by the way).
As for Vic Dar, he too is not refined. Montiel would flurry, counter, and straight embarrass Vic Dar. It's just my opinion. As for Montiel getting hurt, I believe it was against Lopez. But don't poo poo on Lopez because Lopez is BIG hitter and Montiel got up and proceeded to win a UD. And By now, anyone in the ring with Darchin should respect his power. But what they shouldn't do is start believing he has superhuman strength in the ring. I believe the cognitive aspect affects many of his opponent in the ring. And I don't believe Montiel would fall into that. Plus, montiel has a pretty good chin. Like I said, he weathered the storm against Lopez as well as Jhonny Gonzalez (who's was a monster at the lower weights at 5'8). Montiel can handle Darchin's power.
