HBO seemed to really hype Margarito up though. Don't know if they are just selling the fight or what, but watching that, it seems like Cotto is the underdog.

I think HBO is doing the right thing though. I work for Dish and Cotto is going to sell in PR. Already is. I had 1/4th of my calls at work today from PR people ordering the fight. (BTW I think this fight is going to sell well in PR. Will prob make Trinidad numbers. If so expect 60,000 from PR alone. ). Margarito however has to give hardcore Mexican fans some hope for they can order the fight. And its worked. In his hispanic community people are already talking about Margarito and about how Mosley, Mayweather and DLH all ducked him. So I give HBO props for that.
Cotto did have issues with his weight but whatever problems he's had its because he was in a learning process. He learned his lessons alot later in his career as copared to Margarito who was thrown to the wolves early in his career.
Margarito was thrown to the wolves early in his career and learned his lesson the hard way; well, thats what HBO tells us and its just about right. But when I hear about how he "started slow" against Williams and proved he will start fast against Golden Johnson. Margarito couldnt put Clottey away. Then he put Cintron away. Cintron faught with the mentality of "I will hit him with my harder shots and he will do the same- and damn it he is gong to fall". That's what failed Cintron and thats what made Margarito look very good. Margarito so lat ein his career just finalyl seeing the light and realizing that he has to "start faster" only shows me how inconsistent he's been. All while Cotto has done nothing but progress.
Both had trouble once they got thrown in with the wolves. In Margarito's case it was much earlier in his career but it wont take away the fact that when in big trouble Cotto came out victorious.
