i get u, but i think that its their relationship, chris isn't that kind of dude in my estimation; he is soft spoken and chooses to just do him, an that is probably what makes them work.. he sits back in the cut and lets his wife handle that.

alot of men just like to do their business and their wives don't like how they are talked about or treated, the men don't care; but the women its just pisses them off and irritates them that someone they care about is getting jumped on and that person is just so calm about it.

shane mosley, tim duncan, doug christie, kurt warner, chris byrd, etc

i don't know chris; but i relate to it, im a laid back guy and women i have dated have always felt the need to pop off when people comment on me because im a real chill person and i don't get upset, so they feel the need to not let people talk crazy when in fact i don't care

I can see what you're trying to say but I think you're wrong and that the woman should take a cue from the person that's actually part of the situation.
The fight went pretty much how I expected. Like I stated in the first thread about Byrd fighting at lhw, everybody who's tried to lose that much weight has failed because the energy is shit. RJJ is a prime example of that. Tarver, as well. I do want to wish Chris the best, he is a hella nice dude and a guy that competed on the elite level using a style unlike any other.

im actually kinda surprised that you dont see more wives like that in boxing, on the one hand if the girl is kinda with him for his fame and fortune than shes gonna probably want to have her name and face out there for pure vanity. on the other hand if theyre with the fighter for the real than its gonna take a certain type of woman to put up with all the shit that comes with being a professional athlete, let alone a fighter. despite all that though i agree they should keep their traps shut.

i would assume part of it has to do w/his religion and his view on life where he feels they are equally yoked; an she has some if not an equal right to comment on his career and decisions. since what he does will impact her and the family.

i still stand by my statement we are fans, she is his wife; we don't have to tend or care for him when these things happen, its not our lives that take the hit so i see why she might be outspoken

im surprised more women don't say something after seeing so many fighters blow money, end up mentally damaged or whatnot; those women keep quiet and get a lifetime of sorrow cus they werent aware..

not saying she should interject; but i respect why she does it

I finally just got around to watching this fight, ugly. Very ugly, wonder if it's the end of Chris Byrd. If so, great career for a true professional.

I think he might have sparred with Aaron Williams, but I'm not positive. My own training has been very intense lately, the only reason I really noticed Yuri Gamboa is because he got to the Gym as early as I do, so when I got there it was like me, him, and maybe one other person.

George gets there later, once Mike's already run me ragged.
