Tosches isn’t a boxing historian, he’s a good writer who, like many, takes literary license.
Hey, who can resist a good yarn.
…..Maybe I did call him a liar.
But then, who am I, anyway, right ?
Miles Templeton, Karl Hegman, Rob Ecksel, Scott Noble, Pete Ehrmann, Herb Goldman, Joe Grantham, John Grasso, Mike DeLisa, Rob Winkler, Robert Snell, Tracy Callis, Marc Gervais, Dave Iamele, David Bergin, Tim Leone, Kevin Smith, Bert Sugar, John Sheppard, Bob Caico, Chris Cozzone, Dan Cuoco, Pedro Fernandez, Monte Cox, Eric Raskin, Stephen Gordon , Harry Otty, Steve Lott , Don Cogswell, Matt Tegen, Clay Moyle, Ted Sares, Randy Gordon, Barry Deskins, Matt Donnellon, Adam Pollack, Nigel Collins, Tony Triem, Graham Houston, Mike Silver, Reg Gutteridge, Jack Sheehan, and Chuck Hasson are just a few guys off the top of my head who can talk some boxing with you.
There’s a lot more than just those. Some of the good ones are right here at Sherdog I say.
Ralph Citro, Hank Kaplan, dead & gone.

Your a writer yourself, aren't you? Or am I mistaken. Do you still go to the kickboxing forum?, It appeared that you followed the sport for a long time.

Mark Kram was full of crap. Liebling was a master, Bert Sugar is one of the best, Been some fine ones, although I don't always think of many sportswriters as all that good at assessing fighters. Norman Mailer did a fine job of bringing creativity to writing about boxing but I've never thought of him as a premiere boxing historian or boxing writer. There was a guy who wrote for SI in the 80's and he was awesome forget his name offhand but he was incredible. Too many knowledgable people to narrow down to a couple though. You see their names in books, in articles, on documentaries, lots and lots of knowledgable people who've been around even though i don't agree with any of them 100 percent I realize that they have made a life of watching the sport we love.
