BSL is breed specific legislation, this means certain types of dogs could be outlawed, banned and put to death in the future no matter their nature or health or whether they have ever even done anything wrong... dogs like my little Bull Terrier!!

If irresponsibly raised, trained and supervised, ANY DOG, FROM POODLE to PEKINESE to PITBULL is capable of causing harm. If any dog is truly dangerous, it's every owner who should bear sole responsible for the consequences of their lack of care. It's time to look to the other end of the lead.

I don't agree with banning any breeds.

I own a dog aggressive american bulldog. I am a responsible owner.

Not all bad dogs are the result of bad owners. Some pit types cannot curb their aggression. Some need muzzles. Some are born game bred, and innately act out what they were created to do.

Ontario has passed a ban. All dogs already here can live until they go naturally. No new pit types.

I'd die for my bully.

I hate pitts. I'm not scared of them but they do make me nervous. I hate a pitts demeanor, they're always waiting for you to fuck up. When I go to a house and the owner has one they always watch you for a long time, I hate that.

Pitbulls/pit types are bred in the vain of what a perfect soldier is to be--Loving to friends, allies, and family, but fierce towards all others.

They are only doing their 'jobs' by guarding and protecting.

Pit bulls should not be allowed in the uk, i agree it is down to the owner's but they are the choice dog of any chav or scally and they do not look after these dogs properly. How many small children have been savaged by illegal pitbulls in the uk this year, they are too dangerous a dog to let any idiot own one.

When I was 2 years old, I had my head ripped open by a half-wolf, half german shepherd named Rex. The fucker went for my throat, and I still have two puncture scars on my shoulder.

To this day, I love dogs, and I've never seen a case where a dog couldn't be trained to be safe and gentle. My buddy's pitbull used to sleep with the cats, as did my uncle's new dog (the black lab who replaced Rex). But both animals were extremely viscious and tough when it came to wild animals, both receiving near mortal wounds from god knows what. (The black lab, Bear, had four claw marks in his side that looked like a bear swiped at him.) but both had never even growled at a human.
