Hey guys,
I'm planning to drive from Seattle to LA next week. I was wondering if any of you guys have any experience doing this? This is my first "roadtrip," but is there anything to watch out for? How is the weather along the way this time of year? I'm planning to leave on Sept 16 and hopefully get there around the 17th or 18th. Is this at all possible?

avoid seattle during rushour and you'll be cool

seattle to portland = 4 hours
portland to medford = 4/5 hours
la is another 13-15 hours past that i think

yes, it's possible--it's maybe 15 hours driving though.
edit--if you drive like me--otherwise maybe 18 hrs.

you can get there by the 18th if there are two of you driving the only part that sucks is going through the mountains in Oregon.

ohh yeah and in Oregon they will not let you pump your own gas so don't do it our you will piss them off and the cops are dicks so drive the speed limit

go to the vortex south of grants pass

go to arcata

go to la selva beach (take the 1 through frisco all the way past santa cruz)

dont go through bakersfield it smells/is like shit

go to santa barbera

malibu

just slow down when you're near a town/city. you can fly down the 5, day or night. hope you have good tires/suspension through oregon to redding.

cops are kind of gay in cali, they like to hang out near overpasses
