My friend's sister is becoming a nun (Crazy Catholic Family: long story...)
One of my best friend's growing up, our backyards next to each other, I got to know him and his crazy Catholic family pretty well. They pulled their kids out of a private Christian school because they were afraid of "bad influences" and started home-schooling all of them.
My friend, when he was 16, ran away from home and jumped a bus to Minneapolis to get away from these freaks. He only came back when they agreed to let him go to public school. He did, and did very well socially and got into the Air Force Academy and is going to achieve a life dream of becoming a pilot.
His siblings, however, remained home schooled. His younger brother is now in the seminary in college and has only two friends and never goes to social functions. His younger sister is about the same socially and is just graduating high school and is going to become a nun.
The convent/retreat she is enrolling in to requires her to pray, just pray ALONE, for 8 hours a day in a tiny room, and sleep on a BURLAP SACK FILLED WITH HAY. They are only allowed one hour of human contact per day, and are only allowed to eat bread and water, except for dinner, in which they get whatever they cook for her.
Its fucking sad to see her throw away her life like this. I think its criminal what they did to these fucking kids. They will never, ever, be happy.
It's fucking cultish and its happening in my back yard and I haven't said anything. This girl has never had a boyfriend, she hasn't been allowed to have a social life, and she has been controlled and brainwashed her entire life.
I oughta go over there with a dime bag, a liter of bacardi, some rubbers, and show her what life can be like outside that fucking prison she's living in.
