poor little guy. I did that to a chipmunk once. It really bugged me out till I found out it was natural for them to let the tail pop off.

That is a rat. Why don't you keep a lizard, snake, or spider like a normal person. I had a small boa that i would feed baby mice to. It was pretty awesome.
