This movie just seemed depressingly bad. a rip off of other horror films just all wrapped into one. Nothing about it is remotley exciting or suspensful like a horror movie should deliver it fails in all departments.
For the Last house on The Left nothing more to that than a rape plot. Rape and murder ok ya that's cool but what else ohhhh that's it. Movie is another pathetic shot. Craven never found his spot until A Nightmare On Elm St.

I agree with your assessment of H.H.E....but all the same I found it to be ok.
A sub-par T.C.M.....it still held my interest.
for L.H.o.T.L. I think youre way off base.....youre just focusing on the physical acts in the movie...there was a lot more going on underneath the surface.
the original Nightmare was probably a tie for #2 on my list....different Idea, but going by your logic, it was still a "stalker slasher" flick....matter of fact, its been touted as the "original"...but being a horror movie buff, Im sure you will agree that it certainly was not the first of its kind.
My opinion of Wes Craven in general is "meh...he is alright"....so make no mistake, these arent some of my favorite movies ever....Im just rating them as Craven movies, not horror movies in general.
