Do you laugh at death scenes?
Couple months ago I went and saw Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
I saw it with my friend Bridget, and in the course of the movie several people get their shit ruined in a fantastic way. At the end of it *spoiler* the last guy and girl are hiding out in an old meat processing plant and Leatherface finds the girl and is about to fuck her up when captain hero jumps on him from behind. LF proceeds to toss him off, and then run him through with the chainsaw and literally lift his dumbass off the ground, holding him over his head with the saw still going and buddy still alive.
I started laughing my ass off at this while everyone else around me was screaming or going “eww” or some shit. Dude in front of me turns around to see me laughing and he starts laughing too. Bridget tells me on the way out how disturbing it is that I laughed at that guy dying. I tried to explain that an idiot getting run through with a chainsaw, then lifted into the air is hilarious because when the fuck would you ever see that? I thought it was generally funny. She thinks that I am fucked in the head.
Personally when I see people get killed in movies I usually laugh. Especially in scenes like that. Opinions?
