I was downloading songs for my iPod today and it got me thinking about what the greatest songs of the 1990s were. Obviously there are many genres, e.g. best pop, best hip hop, best rock/alternative...etc. What do you guys think? It would give me more ideas about what 90s songs to add to my iPod if anything.

it's hard to categorize 90's music since so many diff. types became popular during that decade. It's not like there was really a "90's sound" the way there was for the 80s, 70s, 60s, etc.
