Don't get me wrong. Compared to the rest of mainstream rock, Tool still kills. On pure talent alone, the band surpasses most bands combined. I've been saying that for over ten years now. It's just this album was full of the stuff that I don't personally care for in Tool, it's very enjoyable to listen to, but not to the degree of their previous efforts. You can obviously tell what I like in Tool that they've brought in the past.

What really put me off was toning down Maynard, equalizing the vocals with the rest of the instruments. He needs to blow shit out of the water. These guys still rock out with the cock out though, and it's going to be another long five year wait for the next album. But my guess it will be some more musical kick-assery.

yeah, i didnt know much about Isis and i was just basicly gonna wait till the show to check em out. holy shit. i just watched the In Fiction video....wow. they fucking rock. that WILL be an awesome excellent show.
