i was searchin and found this . thought i'd share it

Aleksander was convicted of armed robbery and served five years in prison, where he received some of his tattoos. The tattoos are a constant source of questions from his fans and journalists. Aleksander explained their meaning in his interview on Fedor’s official website

Tattoos
Right arm: Cathedral with five domes: symbolizes five years of imprisonment.
Shoulders: Stars: “symbolize person’s honor and dignity, they mean that one lives according to his traditions and principles”.
Right shoulder: cobweb: Aleksander did not explain it’s meaning other than say that contrary to what has been suggested by some, it does not have anything to do with mafia.
Left shoulder: Writing in Russian
Left forearm: Half cat’s head, half skull: “Homo homini lupus est”, man is a wolf to his fellow-man.
Back: Grim Reaper holding a baby: according to Aleksander it’s a tattoo of Holy Mother, and that it means “absolutely nothing”, he just liked the design.
Back: "Gott Mit Uns", meaning “God is with us” in German: for Aleksander, it’s a symbol of revival. This tattoo caused a significant controversy, since this slogan was written on belt buckles of Nazi Germany soldiers.
Knees: Stars: symbolize that the owner will never be brought to his knees.
Pirate tattoo: stands for article 167 of Russian Criminal Code: “armed robbery”.
“Luck favors the brave” in German: self-explanatory.

I don't know his whole history or anything, but why so many tattoo's either in German or in referance to something German?

I'm surprised that at least one tattoo doesn't have anything to do with the mafia. You would think his story of all the tattoos would be more credible if even one tattoo was admitted to having a reference to the mafia. It's not like it's a secret or anything anymore.

What's the tattoo that he has across his lower stomach? Is it one of the last two on the list (they don't have locations).

I like Aleks E as a fighter, but how can a guy have tattoos that “symbolize person’s honor and dignity, they mean that one lives according to his traditions and principles”, when he's an armed robber?

As for the fight with Barnett, I originally gave the edge to Aleks, but now I'm not so sure. The only time Aleks has stepped into the ring with a top fighter was in his loss to Crocop. Barnett beat Couture (granted, though there was the whole steroid controversy in the UFC. But since 'roids are legal in Pride it shouldn't matter

). I think this will be a huge test for Aleks E's career.

ok, i know i ALWAYS say this... BUT IM TELLIN YOU... the two tattoo's alex always says " mean nothing" are the two which symbolize the KGB / mafia the most...his webs are almost always mafia, and SERIOUSLY the reaper is a tattoo in which if you werent a mafia member and still had this tattoo , youd be killed for lying... it means he is a murderer.... a reaper holding a baby snuffing a candle represents power controlling lives through death. Its been documented as a "hitman" tattoo in german prisons . i know, everyone always says.. GLASSJAW, you dont know shit" but im tellin ya true, check it yourselves.
