*First day back in the gym!!! Woot woot. I've been walking on the treadmill lately as well. I decided to gauge my bodies readiness level by playing some basketball. I got into a game and I got tired so quickly. I made it through the game and we won so I'm glad. I can still dunk so thats also a good thing.
When I got into the gym I wanted to be very careful with the weights because I didn't want to rip open any of the sutures or places where they did surgery so I decided to start with SOHP. It felt pretty good I don't think I've lost too much strength in my shoulders. Then i went to squats. The two places I felt it most was on the inside of my legs and a ligament or tendon in my knees. Not like pain, but you know the soreness of a weak link in the chain sorta feeling. I'm really glad I was able to squat though. After the second set I started to get a stinging pain in my stomach around the area of the surgery so I decided to stop. I'm gonna try and go wednesday. I don't think I'll be able to deadlifts. I will probably end up doing the same thing.

I don't know how that surgery works, but nice work trying to lift already.
Appendix -1 (PR)
Good work.

Thanks.
They basically made three incisions on my stomach. One on my upper right, one right on my belly button, and one on the lower left. They obviously had to cut through the abs so like right after the surgery anything that required the contraction of my abs was very difficult for me to do. Squats and deadlifts use a lot of core, in other words squeezing of the abs so thats why I'm having such difficulties with them. It's better now, I can cough and sneeze without much pain so I think I'm making progress.

That appendix wasn't very gay anyway.
Good job getting back into things! Be very careful with the wound though.

Yeah the appendix had to go anyways. It was weak and not pink enough. I weigh less now, which isn't a good thing because I'm trying to put on weight, but other than that I'm glad I got rid of the organ that couldn't cut it.

*I stopped once I started feeling the stinging pain. So I was feeling good enough for deadlifts and went for it. Glad to say that I didn't lose much strength in the deadlift department. I plan to be able to get back at it 100% by the end of next week. I think it will probably take another week or two to get back to where I was at, hopefully. Conditioning is getting better, but I'm not sure whether I should continue to play bball before working out or go back to an exercise bike for 10 min.

*Yeah yeah I'm feeling good. Muscles still a bit shaky, but that should go away. I'm getting my squat strength back pretty quickly. Didn't feel any pain from the surgery area. Now I just gotta find a routine to follow. Anyone got any suggestions? I want to go 100% on the squat. I can't do Smolov because I won't be able to have access to the gym 4x a week to squat. Oh yeah I can only get into the gym 3x a week (MWF).

*Pretty good day at the gym. I thought I would be able to do more at the PP, but I guess not. Deadlifts went pretty well. Biceps felt weak during BORs so I added in chins at the end. The big news of today is the sumo style deadlift, which I really like. The 315 felt so light and the ROM feels so little compared to conventional style. I feel like I could've easily pulled 405 sumo style today if I wanted to. Didn't even notice, but 185 x 3 on the PP is a PR. Probably because I haven't done them in a while.
One question about sumo style. How far should the grip be separated? I kept my grip pretty close, half of my hand was on the smooth part of the bar. When I brought it up my hands were resting on my thighs. This felt the most comfortable.
I did sumo because I thought I'd be able to work my weak hammies. I thought my hammies were weak relative to my other muscles, but I guess not. I wonder what's holding my squat back.

If you have weak hammies do SLDLs/RDLs.
