I got protein powder. It was:
+ FORMULA
Whey Protein Isolate Microfiltrated 40%
Amylocel (Waxy Maize Starch) 50%
Branched Chain Amino Acids (BCAA's) 5%
Creatine Monohydrate Powder 5%
+ BSL Chocolate Flavor System $1.3/
+ Sucralose (Splenda) /
+ Aminogen (Protease Enzyme) $0.7/
+ Plastic Jug w/ Free Scoop $0.6/
I had 2 scopps this morning in about 2 cups of milk. I put it in a big water bottle and drank it on my way to school. I drank some more after I ate lunch, which is right after my class. Then I headed to the gym and then after I finished it off on my way home.
I now way 200 lbs. Man I would love to get up to like 220.

*I'm generally following Sheiko 37 until I start Smolov, which is going to be the week after next week. So yeah there was a lot of benching today. I wanted to do more squats but I just followed his rep and sets scheme. Looking back I should've just done some more squatting anyways. Although, 245 did feel light I could've probably busted out a 5 rep set if I needed to.

*I was absolutely dead by the end of the workout. Bench felt weaker than normal, but that's not really a big concern of mine today. I'm loosely following Sheiko 37 and for my squats I did one extra rep for almost every set except for the first set and the last two sets. I was doing triples for %86 of my max. It just felt really light. I think once I start Smolov next week my squat is gonna explode. On Friday I'm gonna shoot for 275 x 3. Soon I'll be doing triples of my max (295). Who knows where I'll be once I start Smolov.
I've got a decision to make. THis is finals week. I'll be going to school tomorrow and thursday. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to make it Wednesday. So should I do wednesday's workout tomorrow or just chance it for wednesday? Thursday is a no go for working out. Wait a sec where the hell am I gonna work out on Friday?? Hmm I think I'll do wednesdays workout tomorrow and Friday's on thursday. Damit.

*Luckily I was able to get a workout in today because I won't be able to make it to the gym tomorrow like normal. I went in the afternoon which was a big mistake. All the frat guys were there and it was really hard for me to concentrate.
Some guy cam in with a bag and went to the power rack. He first pulls out those rings on straps people use to do pullups and stuff on. He takes about 10 min attaching it to the power rack. He was doing some kind of pullup, dip, pistol squat complex or something, which was cool but it was also kinda funny. First guy ever to do something like this.
I was trying out Smolov today. I was supposed to do 205 for 9 reps and 4 sets. This obviously was not gonna happen. So when I start Smolov I'm gonna lower my max. I think I can do 185 x 9. Hopefully I will be able to start Smolov next week. I just found out that summer school doesn't start till the week after next week. I'm probably the only guy who's pissed off about that because it just makes it harder for me to get to the gym. But I should be able to make it.
Oh yeah I tried split squats instead of front squats at first and failed miserably. I have no balance what so ever. I could barely do em without a bar. I'm gonna try and work up to pistol squats whenever I have free time.

Cool man, I'll be keeping up with this to see how smolov works out for you. I am considering trying out this program after I switch back to back squats and get back in the groove with them:
Russian Squat Program Generator
(except probably use something like 90% of my 1rm)

Wow that looks pretty interesting. After summer I'll probably only be able to make it to the gym 3x a week so I'll definitely try that out.

So my summer has slowly been disintegrating.
Last Saturday night I began to experience some serious stomach pains. I thought at the time that it was caused by bloating I had earlier, but I couldn't release the gas because I was in front of guest. So serious bloating = stomach ache, or so I thought. The stomach ache started at about midnight that night and did not go away. It was really bad. I didn't wanna look like a pussy so I just toughed it out.
Then that morning (Sunday morning) I ate some "churun" which is a powder type of substance used in my culture to help with bowel movements. It some type of powder that has certain spices that I suppose is to act like a diuretic. Well about 30 min after taking said powder I went to the bathroom. I deloaded a bunch of poop. I was pretty happy because I thought yeah finally my stomach ache should start to go away, but I was wrong. The stomach ache was still there and was slowly getting worse. This happened right before we took my sis to the airport, this was like at 6 in the morning. After we came home from the airport I still had my stomach ache.
So we come back and I try to eat some food. Steak and eggs, sweet right? But I just had no appetite what so ever. I took a few bites then went off to lay down and roam these forums. After about an hour I threw up. It was a 3 part vomit. What first came out was what I ate earlier. The second hurl was a load of blood in liquid and the last hurl was smallest in volume but nearly all blood. My stomach immediately felt better. The blood was disheartening so I told my mom. She pretty much freaked out and said we should go to the hospital and stuff, but I was like no we should wait and see what happens.
The stomach ache came right back no more than 5 minutes after the vomiting. So we waited and on went the day. I couldn't eat more than a morsel or two at a time and took liquids in at sips. The stomach ache was actually getting worse. I tried everything eating yogurt like Hunto had suggested to someone else before and all this other stuff, but nothing was working.
It was during the afternoon when I vomited again. Yes it also had blood just like the one before. My mom was urging me to go to the hospital. I was like I'll just try and tough it through the night and see what happens. Well I couldn't last another 15 minutes after the hurl, the pain got so bad I was like mom your right we should go to the hospital.
The part of me that kept stopping me from going to the hospital wasn't some bad ass "I can take pain" character of mine. It was simply the fact that I had volunteered at a hospital in secure care ER, where emergence walk in patients come and on more than one occasion have the nurses made fun of them by saying stuff like "This guy comes in for a bloody nose" "Or just some stomach ache and this guy freaks out". Well I didn't want to be one of those kinda patients, because I too had made fun of them when they came to the hospital.
But now I was in their shoes. Karma is a bitch. I gave in to my mom like I said before and we went to the hospital. We get to the hospital and the pain just keeps getting worse. The whole time it was like a constant throbbing stomach ache that keeps getting progressively stronger. So we walk in and there's a small line. I had to stay on my feet for no more than a few minutes and I started getting woozy. It's my turn up to the window to see the nurse. My parents were going crazy thinking it was the weight lifting, the protein powder, or the fish oil I was taking. I was just trying to tell the nurse that I had a stomach ache and blood in the vomit. She says ok and tells me to move to the next window. This lady takes down my personal information and as she does this I'm sweating. It's a cold sweat, the kind when you start getting dizzy. I tell her that I think I'm gonna throw up. She hands me this little blue bag with a plastic circular rim. I take it to the bathroom. I dry heave once or twice and think I'm gonna be ok.
So we then go wait in the waiting room. The nurses in the window we're patients check-in overlooks the waiting room. It's pretty expansive for a waiting room it has wooden floor quite a few seats and a plasma tv on the opposite end of the entrance. Well it was pretty full so I go take a seat underneath the tv. The Laker game is on. Go figure. At this point I was thinking fuck the Lakers my pain was so bad. I kept my eyes shut and my hand on my head. Rubbing my newly buzzed cut while holding this blue vomit bag infront of me. A few minutes pass and I knew I couldn't hold it in much longer. I walk back to the bathroom, sit down on the toilet and hurl into the bag. Yep it's bloody vomit again. As I go sit down I hand the bag to my dad to go show the nurse who comes right back out to bring me in. She has me sit down on this plastic chair near the entrance and a few minutes later she tells me to go back outside and she says that the next bed that opens up will be for me.
That was a big sigh of relief for me. When I volunteered in secure care I knew it was not uncommon for patients to have to wait upwards of 3 hours to get admitted. I waited about another 5-10 minutes outside before being called back in. They put me onto a bed in the ER, not secure care. The beds in ER suck. I'm 6' 2'' and I was on this tiny ass bed with my feet hanging off and this small ass blanket covering my hips to my ankles and it was really cold.
The nurse comes and installs the IV on my wrist. I have a big fear of needles, but I didn't flinch at all when she put that thing in. The pain was absolutely unbearable, I was practically writhing in this pathetic excuse for a bed. I wait about what feels like 20-30 minutes and she comes back to give me some pain medication. I think she injected morphine into my IV. I couldn't tell because it did not make my pain go away. I don't remember how long we had to wait for the doctor, but it felt like a while.
When the doctor came he gave me a once over and asked the usual questions I expected him to ask. Do I drink, smoke, etc.. I answer all his questions then he queues me for a CT scan of my stomach. Right after he leaves I vomit again to the side of my bed. Blood in it. I wait what felt like a long time before people from the CT scan came by to take me.
Did I forget to mention that I also volunteered in the CT scan department of this hospital? Lol yep. The guy who was scanning me looked familiar. The volunteering was like 2-3 years ago. So he put me in this circular thing which made a funny noise. He injected some liquid into my IV which made me feel hot and he took some more pictures. I go back to my hell hole in the ER and after about another half an hour the doctor comes back.
It's my appendix, it needs to be taken out asap. Not much more than like 20 minutes the surgeon is down telling me about the procedure. He leaves to go back up to get ready and 5 minutes later I'm being prepped by surgery. They inject something into me causing me to fall asleep almost instantly.
I wake up later feeling really groggy. My legs felt really sore. I was in some bed. They moved me to a patient care room. I stayed in there the night. Did I happen to mention that I also volunteered on the same patient care floor of this hospital like 3 years ago? lol yep I did. So I stayed in there for a day. Monday passed all in that room. Monday night the surgeon comes to tell me they are gonna put a tube down my throat to check for where the blood in my vomit came from because appendicitis normally does not cause bloody vomit.
So I was taking pain meds through out the day and night. Mostly vicodin I can't really notice any difference when I take vicodin. Monday night the nurse decided to give me some morphine instead. She slowly injected the morphine into my IV. She was like your too innocent to look like a drug user, people who are drug addicts like me to inject the morphine gast to get a rush. Well even though she injected slowly I still got a rush. I guess that was my first rush from a drug. It was interesting, not enough to get me addicted lol. I slept nicely through the night.
All through Monday I was on a liquid only diet. Drinking mostly soup and juice. Monday night after the morphine injection I couldn't eat or drink anything till they put the tube down my throat. So they did that today around 1. The doctor found some inflammation of the eso****us. Thats about it nothing big luckily. I have some scars on my stomach from the surgery.
It's Tuesday night and I'm not at home. The surgery cuts still sting a bit, but thats about it. Hopefully my student insurance goes through. If it doesn't, and I have an inkling that it won't, I will then be screwed for 15K of medical bills.
So I won't be able to lift for a while. I'm gonna take it easy this week and go from there.
My summer has gone to complete shit. I was supposed to start smolov today with the classes that I was supposed to take. Those classes got cancelled which caused smolov to be also. I thought ok fine I'll just start smolov next week when my other classes start. Now I can't do smolov because of the appendicitis.
I hope to be lifting again in like a month though.
