Awesome. I typically do 5 sets to failure of dips. So I guess Ill do 3 sets, and add more pushups. Crunches are hard to do with the rucksack, the ROM is effected alot.

that was a little tabby cat named Jack......one letter off...so close enough...

YG just out of curiosity how did you fare in the army in terms of top cadets in pull ups, push ups, etc? it seems insane that a guy your size is doing this type of amount/volume.....looking at your volume of conditioning i'd assume you were 150lb tops...then I see Bears....the weight used.... and go wtf...lol....truly impressive shit...

We just had a PT qualifier..
Normally they didn't give a shit if you hit 50 or 450 as long as you made your age group.
I would say I was in the 98th percentile.

The only time time I ever had to work my way back up was right after Ranger school. I lost about 27 pounds in 60+ days...Most of that was muscle, and all my kit smelt of ammonia.

Army has no love for pullups though...mostly pushups, flutterkicks, jumping jacks, and course training, crunches. Courses like the Darby Queen use a ton of pullup/climbing variations.

I have always had it pretty easy when it comes to bodyweight work...and volume..
I tend to gain strength better using a combo of high rep BW and 3-5rm work.

Shit, 27lbs at Ranger school? I've heard of that alot. I'd come out at 173lbs. So yeah, Im pretty much intimidated as hell right now of Ranger school.

Back to some strength training

pullups
10x10=100

dips
5x20=100

it's nice to say I can do 100 pullups as a warmup..sorta

BEAR(my new love)
barx20
135x5
135x5
185x3
225x3
275x1
285x1
290x1
290x1 Behind the neck push after the squat felt fucking fantastic...easy easy easy getting it up...initial transition press was a bit on the "less than explosive" side....

I love these things..
