Man up. [the journey from pussy to less of a pussy]

So, after being an indecisive schmuck and not knowing what the "best program for me" is, I'm going to give Rippetoe a shot and get my lifts to a good number. everyone worth listening to is telling me to start with a decent foundation and go from there, so thats what i'm going to do.

i'm a bit embarrassed amongst you strong bastards, but we all gotta start somewhere.

also, as per fitday:

#1
2 eggs, fried
2 slices whole wheat bread
1 glass milk

post-wo
cytogainer + 1 glass milk

#2
cajun steak

snack
trail mix

#3
2 chicken breasts, 1 glass milk

snack
trail mix

#4
2 chicken breasts, 1 glass milk

totals around 3500 calories with 246 of protein. hoping to go from 180 to...whatever. sky is the limit.

Squat
45-20
95-5
140-3
190-2
240-5
240-5
240-5

my work capacity on these suck. gonna have to time my rest on these sets next time, but im guessing they were between 4-5 minutes on the working sets

Bench Press
45-20
5-105
3-145
2-185
5-210
5-210
5-210

Deadlift
110-5
110-5
165-3
235-2
280-5

had more reps left in the tank but didn't want to blow my load.

Squat
45-10
95-5
145-3
195-2
245-5
245-5
245-5

not too confident with these numbers. to say i was shaky would be an understatement. might have to scale back and reset my #s here.

Press
45-5
45-5
70-5
90-3
110-2
135-5
135-5
135-5

pathetic numbers. im wondering if a pushpress would be more ideal/have more of an athletic carry-over because of rugby/hockey.

Row
45-10
100-5
130-3
160-2
190-3
190-3
190-3

form started to get really shitty on these. seems the problem is 1 side is weaker than the other. might have to add in some unilateral DB rows to even it out - unless that will do more harm than good.

Stick with press for a while. Push Press is more of an assistance lift to the press.

true enough. veggies: i hates them. ill see what i can do though. cant stand the taste of any of them.

friday:

squat

45-10
100-5
150-3
200-2
250-5
250-5
250-5

bench

45-10
105-5
150-3
190-2
215-5
215-5
215-5

deadlift

115-5
115-5
170-3
245-2
290-5

this was all done, surprisingly, on a very bad stomach and hangover. lucky lager and mcdonalds makes my tummy go round and round. gained approximately 2 pounds this past week and a half. go go go.

i'm getting insane headaches after deadlifts though. very unlikely its a hydration problem. might just be the strain that causes it.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people get headaches, or at least lightheaded, when going heavy with deads.

Agreed, I regularly have to hold onto something after I put the bar down to avoid feeling like I'm about to fall over.

Looks like you're off to a solid start man, good job.
