in order of importance for losing weight....although lifting weights is the slowest way to help shed weight, it is ultimately the most long term solution at losing weight and keeping it off.
I dont know what your diet is like but I am guessing you need to move away from high glecemic index carbs(pasta, white rice, white bread) and more towards lower glycemic index carbs(complex variety)[yams, sweet potatoes, black/brown rice, quinoa, amaranth, legumes, nuts, etc).....focus more of vegetables.....bottom line however will come from gradual caloric reduction...
