Awesome. I think we learned that at one point, but only worked on it for one class. I'll try it out.

Try it
A lot easier to get your hands up then slip a kick (but the slipping has more opportunities associated with it- creates opportunities)

The stuff about the phone position and 3 point head kick is very good advice. My coach drilled into me by constantly faking high, going low, and vice versa when we sparred. Even during pads... over and over....
Good stuff Ian.
Also, after seeing Thaigo Silva almost get KO'd, you realize why you need to "grab the scruff" of the neck. Putting your hand up isn't always enough.

Embedding is disabled for the video (friend uploaded it), but here it is. A few notes first:
-I thought I parried a teep but I didn't see it in the video
-I think less of my performance after seeing the video, but I'm not entirely disappointed.
-When I pick him up and don't throw him it is because I don't realize he is off the ground right away, which sucks because it would have been a big throw.
-When I spin around after throwing a hook, it is because the previous head kick rocked me.

Cool man.
That guard is still a bit open and the elbows high. I think that may be why he lands the teeps. If you bring your elbows/arm in, he'll have less target to hit.
Nice scoop up when he get teh double plum!
There was a few times when you started with a lead outside leg kick with out setting it up. Throw a jab, even a faker, first.
Also there was a hook in the first round that had right leg kick to his inside lead leg just screaming to follow it up.
The duck may not be the correct thing to do, but it did look pretty sweet. Shades of Koaklao Koernising (SP) there.
Try getting your lead leg outside his, and blasting a cross-hook-right leg kick. Even if the cross doesn't hit (which it can easily v/southpaw at that angle) the hook-kick should. - I just re-watched it and you landed a nice short hook in the second round(?) and your lead leg was outside his.
Anything your coaches pointed out to ya?

Coach was busy because we were doing multiple fights. He is going to watch the video and send comments later.
Getting outside his lead leg is another problem because of his long legs, but I did manage to do it more often this time than when we did light sparring previously.
Thanks for the comments.

Note: About the double plum and ducking. As much as the ducking may have been wrong, I am happy about both of those techniques because they were examples of me not thinking and just reacting. Sometimes I tend to overthink (should I throw 1-2-3 or low kick-3-2 etc) too often when I should just fight. Those were bother cases of me just reacting.

Good stuff, hands were a little wide which is fine but if you are at a reach disadvantage its better to keep a tighter guard otherwise youre just gonna get popped in the nose all day with jabs and straights.
In the clinch if you are shorter use that to your advantage, you will have bad leverage if you go for the neck so just bearhug the guy, do a partial squat lift him slightly off the floor and kick one of his legs away. This will dump him on the floor and will score you points.

When you catch his leg like you did in the second round, keep ahold of it and turn into him and go for a double leg. Also try to rotate him so he can't base and you land in side control.
Then he's got you clinched and he's leaning into you grab an arm, turn your hips into him, and go for the seoi-nage.
